When the year 1943, British soldiers, especially Colonel Nicholson, were prisoners in the Japanese camp. Saito, the commander of the Japanese, asks the British soldiers to build a bridge over the Kwai river. Its purpose is to make it easier for Japanese troops to carry ammunition. Unable to endure all the torture, Colonel Nicholson will accept this offer and accept it so that they feel a morale for the military and hope for survival.
